Individualized therapy sessions
Personalized 1:1 and small-group therapy sessions are tailored to students' specific needs and learning pace.
Instruction is provided using evidence-based dyslexia programs. At Read Right Dyslexia Solutions, we use Take Flight, widely recognized as the gold standard in dyslexia therapy, for most students. For younger learners in kindergarten through first grade (and some second-grade students based on individual needs),we use Build, a program designed to develop strong foundational literacy skills through structured, multisensory instruction.
About Take Flight
Take Flight is an evidence-based, structured, sequential, multisensory two year reading program that improves word recognition, fluency, and comprehension. This program is grounded in decades of research, based on the Orton-Gillingham approach which rewires the way the brain processes language. The program is for children Second grade on.
About Build
Build is a program designed for children in Kindergarten and First Grade who have been identified as at risk for dyslexia. The 100-lesson program focuses on the alphabet, letter & sound knowledge, phonological awareness, vocabulary and comprehension.
Foundational literacy skills
Students develop the foundational skills needed for reading and spelling success through explicit, systematic, and multisensory instruction. Areas of skill development include:
• Phonological and phonemic awareness
• Sound-symbol correspondence (phonics)
• Decoding and word recognition
• Spelling and encoding
• Reading fluency and accuracy
• Vocabulary and morphology (prefixes, suffixes, and word meanings)
• Reading comprehension
• Written language skills
• Study skills and academic confidence
Instruction is individualized to meet each student's needs and is based on the evidence-based Orton-Gillingham approach, helping students build strong literacy skills and become confident, independent learners.
Monitoring Growth Every Step of the Way
Student progress is carefully monitored throughout the therapy process to ensure steady growth and identify areas that may need additional support. After the completion of each Take Flight book, students complete a Master Check to assess mastery of the concepts taught within that level, including single-word decoding skills. In addition, biannual progress monitoring is conducted to measure growth in phonological awareness, phoneme-grapheme knowledge, decoding, and reading fluency. These ongoing assessments provide valuable data that guide instruction, celebrate student progress, and ensure that therapy remains targeted to each student's individual needs.
Ongoing assessment and detailed progress tracking ensure that interventions are effective and adjusted as needed, providing consistent support for academic growth.
Empowering lifelong learners
Our ultimate goal is to help students become confident, independent readers who believe in their ability to learn and succeed, fostering a lifelong love for reading.
